All About the Art Teacher

Welcome to the Middle School Art website.  I am Mrs. Patterson!   I have been teaching in the Wayland Union School district for 11 years now.  I have been at the Middle School for 5 glorious years.  I teach both 7th and 8th grade art, and can't imagine doing anything else.  I grew up on the east side of the state in Livonia, and ended up at Western Michigan University until 1996 where I met my husband at a skateboard shop.  I still skateboard as well as snowboard, rollerblade, camp, birdwatch, paint and take digital photos.  We have been married for 5 years, and have a 18 month old son who is super cute. I also have 2 demon chihuahuas named Roscoe and Squiggy.

What do we do in ART?

7th and 8th grade art focus on Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture.  We explore art from different cultures, learn about art history, and have plenty of opportunities for art creation/studio art.  We have showcased some of our students finest artwork on a great website called www.artsonia.com.   Stop by and see us sometime!  The door is always open, and we love visitors.
